LakaTrades LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the trading education platform at www.lakatrades.com (the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you visit our Platform, register for a membership, or use any of our services. By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please discontinue use of the Platform.
When you create an account, sign up for a membership, submit an application, or contact us, we may collect: your name, email address, phone number (if provided), payment information (processed securely via Stripe — we do not store full card numbers or CVV codes), trade journal entries, trade feedback submissions, course quiz responses, bootcamp or workshop application details, and any other information you voluntarily provide.
When you access the Platform, we automatically collect certain technical information including: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, pages visited, time spent on pages, login timestamps, session duration, content accessed (courses, PDFs, trade plans), and download history. This data is used for security, fraud prevention, compliance, and service improvement.
If you sign in using Google, Apple, or Microsoft OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and a unique identifier from that provider. We do not receive or store your third-party account passwords. Authentication is handled entirely by the respective OAuth provider.
We use privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand how members use the Platform. This may include page view counts, feature usage patterns, and session data. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify individual users by name.
For security, compliance, and dispute resolution purposes, we maintain detailed audit logs of user activity on the Platform. These logs include: login history (timestamps, IP addresses, device information), content access records (which pages, PDFs, course modules, and trade plans were viewed and when), payment history, agreement signing records with timestamps, download history, and email notification activity. These records are retained for a minimum of seven (7) years and may be used as evidence in the event of a chargeback dispute, legal proceeding, or regulatory inquiry.
By creating an account, you consent to receive transactional emails including account confirmations, payment receipts, enrollment agreement confirmations, and cancellation confirmations. If you are a paid member, you may also receive notification emails when new content is published (daily trade plans, weekly outlooks, Coach's Trade Reviews). You may opt out of notification emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by managing your preferences in Account Settings → Notification Preferences.
We use session cookies to maintain your authenticated session on the Platform. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or behavioral tracking cookies. Analytics data may be collected using privacy-respecting tools to understand how members use the Platform. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may prevent you from logging in or accessing member content. See our Cookie Policy for full details.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you cancel your membership, your account data, trade journal entries, and course progress are retained for 90 days in case you decide to resubscribe. After 90 days, personal data may be deleted upon request. Audit logs, payment records, and agreement signing records are retained for a minimum of seven (7) years for compliance and dispute resolution purposes, regardless of account status.
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed session tokens, access controls, and secure cloud storage to protect your information. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe — we never store full card numbers, CVV codes, or banking credentials. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
The Platform is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at lauren@lakatrades.com and we will take steps to delete such information.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your personal information (subject to our legal retention obligations); opt out of non-essential email communications; and receive a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise these rights, please contact us at lauren@lakatrades.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe in accordance with applicable law.
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by sending an email notification to active members. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
